A first-aid kit is necessary gear. Injuries happen. Get one and know how to use it !
Basic first-aid : Clean and patch the wound, then keep the wound comfortable while it heals.
Common outdoor injuries : Scrapes, cuts, and bruises. Splinters, glass, etc. Dirt or bugs in eyes. Allergic reactions. Strains and sprains. Snake and spider bites. Break a bone. Break the bike.
NOTE : If you get a snake or spider bite, break a bone, etc, you will need urgent medical attention and transport to an emergency hospital. Your bike ride is over. Call Triple Zero (000) in Australia.
